We supposed to have picnic that day,but unfortunately the weather was terrible.Rain and heavy wind.....so we end up had picnic at home.
Ira brought so much food!! (she made all herself-how talent this hot mommy.. she`s such a good cook!).We were so hungry,didn`t take picture the rest of the food that my mom made and myself.Too busy digging in to those drooling Indo goodies.
Food by Ira : Tahu isi,Kering tempe,Vietnamese Spring Rolls,Pastel isi,Sate Telor.
Food by my mom (Mary) : Gerang Bali,Pepes ayam,Pepes Ikan.
Food by Me : Oseng2 terong-tauge,Sambal terasi.
Oh heaven! Btw the sambal I made by 32bird chillis!! Powerfull enough to explode our mouth...hahaha....Biar kyk racun pedesssnya tapi huibat kan rasanya Ira??
We had so much fun,eating,chatting,eating,eating,chit chat....

One day Luke`s sister Marisa came up to me and showed us in one of the recent gossip&celebrity magazine,there was a picture of Catherine Zeta Jones standing on patio of an Italian Restaurant,turned out it`s Luke`s aunty&uncle restaurant:  Antico Ristorante Pagnanelli.It is in Castel Gandolfo,lovely town near Rome-where the Pope lives in summer,just over the Albano Lake.Then I quick browsing in internet and found their picture.The owner is aunty Jane&uncle Aurelio Mariani.The place just so beautiful and look super romantic.....

This is a famous Italian restaurant in Perth,located in Northbridge own by our Uncle Alfonso.The food is just devine!

This is really easy to make

6 hard boiled eggs
Ready made Caesar Salad Dressing
Drained tint beetroot - cut into wedges
I used Millel Parmesan Cheese - shaved
Some capers
Salt and pepper

Cut each egg into quarter
Put eggs into serving dish
Pour some ready made Caesar Salad Dressing,top with wedges beetroot,
salt&pepper,shaved parmesan cheese then drizzle with some capers

Good to eat this egg salad with barbecue food




For other alternate you can use blanched string beans or asparagus,top with the egg salad
Can use pitted olives instead of capers
Can use veta cheese instead of parmesan
Its all up to your taste,you can even combine all of them,still taste very yummy

Ps : I`m a big fan of Caesar salad,tried several dressing,found this ready made dressing (see on the picture on top) It`s the best one I`ve ever had !

Combine 2 x 400g cans drained chicpeas with
1/3 cup lemon juice
1 crushed garlic clove
1/2 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley
2 tbsp olive oil
1/3 cup shaved parmesan cheese
cracked black pepper and sea salt

Allow to marinate at least 30 minutes before serving.
(Alternated can serve on top of baby spinach as a salad)

This is my fave meal.The smell is so beautiful,could even smell it outside my house.Made it this morning,actually it`s for Winny-our Bali friend,he invited us tonite for dinner-house warming.I`ll bring this to share with everyone...sure- they would love it.


1 whole chiken


Making paste (put all ingredients in blender) :
1 whole purple onion-chopped ( or 8 pcs small shallots )
3 cloves chopped garlic
5 pcs (big) red chilli
8 pcs (small) eye bird chilli
10 pcs candle nuts (kemiri)- toast on fry pan
1 tbsp coriander seeds (toast on fry pan)
some salt and black pepper
1 tsp shrimp paste
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger + 1 tbsp ground ginger powder
2 tbsp galangal powder
2 tbsp tumeric powder
1 1/2 tbsp kencur (kamferia galanga powder)
1 block chicken stock powder
4 tbsp vegetable oil

Chopped finely
4 pcs lemon grass white part only
8 pcs bay leaves (cut roughly)

Get ready some aluminium wrap-enough to cover the chicken

Seasoned the chicken with some salt and pepper.
Then cover chicken with the paste,put inside the cave,all around the body part,giving such a good rub.

Cover in aluminium wrap,leave to marinated the whole night.

Put in oven 160C about 1 and half hour.

Pagi2 pengen bgt masak gerang bali(teri)bumbu manis. Baru bangun lgsg goreng gerang-pke minyak byk gerang di goreng dikit2 biar renyah trus potong2 bawang merah,bwg putih,petik cabe rawit di kebun-mumpung summer jd lg panen,lombok merah,kasi kencur,kunyit dikit,gula merah,minyak...trus blender deh.Abis itu bumbu di tumis n masuk gerang.Makan pake nasi panas2....hmm enak.

Maunya bikin plecing kangkung juga,tapi Sevy udah ngomel2 minta mandi....n liat rumah masih berantakan bgt,laundry numpuk,lantai msti di pel,debu dimana2 n byk laba2 hiiiii summer di Oz gudangnya spider! Jd sambil mkn gerang....sayur plecing-nya cukup dlm hayal aja dulu sementara ini...hehehee
